They are engineered for both indoor and outdoor applications and need minimal maintenance due to their rugged construction. Cast coil transformers use environmentally safe insulation systems that don’t require the fire proof vaults and catch basins that liquid filled transformers need. This allows the installation of cast coil transformers inside buildings close to the load, improving overall system regulation and reducing costly secondary line losses. The fiberglass reinforced construction of these units also provides higher short circuit strength and impulse voltage strength.
